Football has their Super Bowl. Hockey has the Stanley Cup. Baseball has the World Series, and even basketball has the NBA title. Tomorrow night, the world championship of movies takes place: The Oscar Awards. And I don't know about all of you other Arcaders, but I'm excited as hell.
Every year all of the greatest actors, actresses, film writers, producers, and directors gather in one place for about 3 hours to partake in the most important of awards ceremonies in the film industry. With so many great films up for "Best Picture" this year, everyone seems to be excited for tomorrow night. In my opinion, this one is going to be nail-bitingly close.
I am sincerely hoping "No Country For Old Men" takes home the gold medal. However, that is who I'd LIKE to win. That is not my prediction. My prediction is that "Atonement" ultimately will dominate with "No Country..." coming in close second.
So until tomorrow night, that's it! We will all wait (or at least ME) in agony to see who will prevail. This will be close, no doubt about it. All five of the films are worthy of "Best Picture". But who will prevail?
Tune in tomorrow night at 8:00 EST ( 5:00 Pacific) on ABC. Until then, (and this proves I am a movie geek): "Are you ready for the Oscars?"
