I'm sure you all know about the dreadful remake of the horror classic "A Nightmare on Elm Street," but I think that even the naysayers can at least say "that this is good news."

FilmArcade's buddies over at HorrorYearbook.com have just got off the phone with Robert Englund. When HYB asked if what he said about not appearing in the remake playing the character that made him famous is true, he replied:

"The decision isn’t mine, They haven’t talked to me so I figure that they are going with a whole different interpretation and a different cast. If I was approached it would be a challenge but sure, yeah. But it sounds to me that they want to reinterpret it.”

I'm sure that everyone around the globe, while the remake still gets my panties into a bunch, are sighing that there may be some guy up there that truly loves me and hates Michael Bay. That's the guy I would like to meet and shake their hand.

Well it doesn't sound like they are planning on it. But that would be great news if they did. Robert Englund is Freddy Krueger, he makes him the villain he is in every way. I am glad that Englund is so dedicated to this character after all of these years.

It would be nice if he was in it.

If Michael Bay has a brain in that inflated head of his, he better call Englund for the remake. Only way I'll be even remotely interested in watching this pointless film.
