Associated Press is reporting that Patrick Swayze died Monday after battling with Pancreatic cancer for the last 20 months. He was 57.
Swazye first gained notoriety in 1983 when he stared in “The Outsiders”, which at the time also launched the careers for Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, and Tom Cruise. But Swayze is mostly known for his leading roles in “Red Dawn” “Dirty Dancing”, “Ghost” and “Point Break”. He also made appearances later in his career, in films like “ Danny Darko”, “Keeping Mum” and “Powder Blue” (his last film)
Just before his death, he also starred in his own show “The Beast” on A&E. The show drew respectively ratings, but lasted only one season mostly because of his declining health.
Film Arcade.net would like to extend our condolences to Sawzye’s family and friends

This is a terrible loss, for his wife-first, then for his extended family and friends, then for Hollywood. He was a great actor and now cancer took his life. Well, life is short and the unexpected does happen!
