Jet Li Drama "Ocean Heaven" Hits DVD and Blu-Ray Shelves in February

Well Go USA has send us over information for their upcoming release "Ocean Heaven" starring Jet Li in his first dramatic role. The film has won various Shanghai Media Awards including Best Picture, Best New Director & Best Actor. Special features on the Blu-Ray and DVD include Jet Li Interview about Autism, Deleted Scenes, Photo Gallery and Trailers. "Ocean Heaven" is slated to hit DVD and Blu-Ray on February 7th.

Martial arts superstar Jet Li (The Expendables, Hero, Lethal Weapon 4) reveals his talent for heartfelt drama in Ocean Heaven, debuting on Blu-ray™ + DVD Combo Pack and DVD February 14th from Well Go USA Entertainment. The film, which screened at five major North American festivals including the Toronto International Film Festival, features Li as a terminally ill father attempting to teach his autistic son the necessary life skills to survive on his own before he himself passes away. First time writer/director Xue Xiaolu based the film on her experiences over the last 14 years as a volunteer with Beijing Stars and Rain, a non-governmental educational organization for autistic children. Bonus features include deleted scenes, an extensive photo gallery and a poignant interview with Jet Li on Autism. Ocean Heaven will be available in a Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack for $29.98 SRP and on standard DVD for $24.98 SRP.

Synopsis:
Wang (Jet Li), a maintenance man at an Ocean Park-style water theme park, lives with his 20-year-old son, David (Wen Zhang). David suffers from autism and is unable to function independently in the outside world. He is a competent swimmer and regularly joins Wang at work, where he is allowed to play in the large aquariums with the dolphins, turtles and other tropical fish. However, when Wang discovers he has terminal cancer and only a matter of months left to live, he must help David assimilate into normal society, or risk him being incarcerated in a hellish mental asylum.
