R.I.P. Tony Scott (1944-2012)

It’s a sad day in the film world today, as they’ve lost one of its talented directors and producers Tony Scott. He was found dead yesterday in an apparent suicide. Tony Scott was 68.

Like his younger brother Ridley, Tony Scott also had some key and notable films of his own. His first feature film was the cult classic “The Hunger" in 1983. Even though the film didn’t do well initially, the film has maintained a following over the year.

Three year later, he would go on to directed the hugely successful “Top Gun”, which stared Tom Cruise and later go on to direct “Beverly Hills Cop 2” starring Eddie Murphy.

Tony Scott's most notable films later in his career included “True Romance, “Crimson Tide”, “Enemy of the State:” “Domino” and most recently “Unstoppable”.

His most notable production credits included the HBO film “RKO 281”, TV’s Numb3ers and more recently the documentary “Life in a Day”, Joe Carnahan’s “The Grey” and his older brother Ridley Scott’s latest film "Prometheus".

Scott leaves behind his older brother Ridley Scott, his third wife of seventeen years Donna W. Scott and two children.
