"The Moth Diaries" is one of those films that your's truly can't wait to see. IFC Films has provided us with the behind the scene featurette and first clip of the film. The film is the latest from "American Psycho director Mary Harmon and stars Sarah Bolger, Lily Cole, and Scott Speedman. "The Moth Diaries" is available now on through Sundance Now and VOD providers and hits theaters in limited release on April 20th.

Plot Synopsis:

Acclaimed director Mary Harron (AMERICAN PSYCHO, THE NOTORIOUS BETTIE PAGE) returns with the chilling story of Rebecca (Sarah Bolger), a young girl who, haunted by her father’s suicide, enrolls in an elite boarding school for girls. Before long, Rebecca’s friendship with the popular Lucy (Sarah Gadon) is shattered by the arrival of a dark and mysterious new student named Ernessa (Lily Cole). Lucy falls under Ernessa’s spell and becomes emotionally and physically consumed by her glamorous new friend.

Rebecca, whose overtures of concern are rejected by Lucy, finds herself lost and confused. She begins to develop a crush on her handsome English teacher, Mr. Davies (Scott Speedman) and immerses herself in the Gothic vampire novel Carilla for his class. IFC Films has recently released the official trailer and poster for Mary Harron's upcoming film "The Moth Diaries". It played at last year's Venice and Toronto International Film Festivals, before being picked up by IFC films. The film stars Sarah Bolger, Lily Cole, and Scott Speedman. "The Moth Diaries" hits VOD on March 13th and in limited release in theaters on April 20th.

Edward R. Pressman Films recently released a couple of stills for Mary Harmon's upcoming horror film "The Moth Diaries". This is one of those horror films that I'm interested in seeing, considering that I liked Mary Harron's last two films ("American Psycho", "The Notorious Bettie Page") a lot. The film is based on the book by Rachel Klein, which was published in 2002. "The Moth Diaries" recently played at the Venice Film Festival before playing at this years Toronto International Film Festival. No US release date or distribution information has been announced yet.

Plot Synopsis:

Rebecca, haunted by her father's suicide, begins her junior year at an elite all-girls‟ boarding school, hoping for a fresh start. Her friendship with sunny Lucy is shattered by the arrival of Ernessa, a mysterious girl. As Ernessa consumes more of Lucy's attention, the latter‟s body grows pale, thin and weak. Starring Lily Cole, Sarah Gadon, Sarah Bolger, Judy Parfitt and Scott Speedman.
