IFC Films recently send us over the first two stills for Paul Schrader's (Affliction, Auto Focus) upcoming film "The Canyons. The film is written by Bret Easton Ellis and stars Lindsay Lohan, James Deen and Nolan Gerard Funk. "The Canyons" opens on August 2, 2013 in New York, on VOD and iTunes. The film will open in Los Angeles on August 9th.

Plot Synopsis:

While calculating young movie producer Christian (Deen) makes films to keep his trust fund intact, his actress girlfriend, Tara (Lohan), hides an affair with an actor from her past. But Christian becomes aware of her infidelity, which leads the young Angelenos into a violent, sexually-charged tour through the dark side of human nature.

Aubrey Fleming (Lohan) is a nice teen girl from a loving, respectable upper-middle class family. She hangs out with her friends. Has a football player boyfriend who she won't let get in her skivvies. And is an aspiring writer. But one night after a football game, she disappears. Late one night she is found on the side of the road half dead and minus half of her right arm and leg. When she awakens, she doesn't remember her parents and denies being Aubrey, instead she says her name is Dakota Moss. Dakota has a crackhead mom, smokes, drinks and does some underage stripping to make ends meet. Does she have amnesia? Is this a case of mistaken identity?
