Eight months ago, I launched FilmArcade.net and I tried my ass off to get the amount of readers that we have now. Now that we get readers from all over the world in this eight months time, I figured that this would be the best time to start “upgrading” to the site.
I figured I would bring it up now that come this December or next January, FilmArcade.net will be switching its servers. Whereas FilmArcade.net now runs on Blogger, we will be going to an official WordPress blog. This is going to cost a bit more money on my end (actually, one hundred more bucks on my end than what I paid for the Blogger blog, but no worries), but just as long as it is all worth it, I will be glad to spend the money.
With a WordPress blog, we are able to do a lot more with the site. Here are just a few things I’m planning on doing with the site:
- More reviews, articles, interviews, and news coverage.
- An official FilmArcade.net forum.
- A podcast to feed your weekly (or bi-weekly) needs.
- Extensive coverage of Film Festivals and conventions, including Sundance International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, and the San Diego Comic Con.
- Contests and fun stuff to win.
- Movie-themed webcomics.
- Writer pages.
- And much more…
Now, here is where a few complications arise. I don’t know how easy it is to transfer everything from Blogger to WordPress. Right now, I am just trying to plan out everything that I want to do with the site before I think about this, and Randy had a great idea that we keep all of this stuff in a FilmArcade archive page, but for now we’ll wait and see.
But what I wanted to know is what you – the reader – want to see. Just throw up any random ideas. Let me know what you want to see on the site and I promise you I’ll do my best to do it. Comment below about what you want to see, or send an e-mail to TonyD@FilmArcade.net.
Thanks everyone!
