So some of you guys are wondering why we’re not updating the site all too much lately. I don’t want to say that it is being lazy, because really, it isn’t. But I have a better excuse that I think everyone will find suitable.
We run FilmArcade.net off of Blogger. Whenever we post something on the site, we go from our Blogger Dashboards to the post. Whenever we post images, we upload them from Blogger, which then goes into our Picasa Album. Whenever you try and comment, it goes to the Blogger site.
Last month I updated the site and said that I was looking forward to being able to upgrade to WordPress for next year (which we’re looking at first quarter 2009) In order to do this, we would have to transfer all of our posts, but our images will not be featured on there, so I’m trying to figure a way around this.
But we have A LOT coming for WordPress. Here are just many things that I’m planning.
- More reviews, news coverage, film festival coverage (hopefully beginning with a certain one in January), and articles.
- We’re still sticking by our word and we’re still dedicating ourselves to indie films as well, but just as much.
- On Wednesday, one of our writers attended something HUGE… HUGE… for the site. This will hopefully give us a lot more recognition in the future.
- More interviews, from big celebrities to the people who are still trying to release their films.
- Fun stuff, such as contests as film-themed web-comics.
The three things that I’m looking forward to releasing the most though are the forum, the FilmArcade podcast, and the new site layout. It will look GREAT.
So just stick with us for the next few months. I can assure you, this will be for the better.
