This direct-to-DVD offer by Maverick, a Florida distributor with a large inventory of low budget fare is …awful. Writer/director Sidney Mansa Winters tells this tale partially through flashbacks. So at the beginning of the movie, things are confused, but by the end it's obvious who everybody is and what their motivations are. Problem is can you last 110 minutes to get to the end.
The primary problem is that the script, acting, editing and production value are horrid. The main protagonist talks with his back to the camera and moves back and forth in front of the person he's talking to, never staying in place for more than a sentence. The dumb henchman are really dumb, but not in an interesting way. Every conversation has odd pauses like they're reading off cue cards, and goes on too long. Everyone enunciates very clearly, almost as if the film is a satire of an action drama…but it isn’t.
Unless you really want to see what bad filmmaking looks like or need a background film for the flat screen at your all-night beer-bender fraternity party, pass. One star for getting distribution.
