It's a sad day on this Labor Day for Hollywood, as character actor Michael Clarke Duncan passed away at a Los Angeles hospital. He was admitted to the hospital on July 13th after suffering a heart attack. No official cause of death has been determined at this time. Clarke was 54.

The 6'5 actor was first noticed in the 1998 film "Armageddon", which stared Bruce Willis. Clarke credits Willis for his breakout performance in "The Green Mile", as Willis recommended him to the film's director Frank Darabount. This would lead him to his only Oscar nomination in Clarke's career. He would go on later to co-star with Bruce Willis in "Breakfast of Champpions", "The Whole Nine Yards" and "Sin City".

He would also appear in such films as Daredevil, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Schools for Scoundrels and more recently "Green Lantern" as the voice of Kilowog and the upcoming indie drama "The Challenger".

He leave behind his fiancée and his sister.

Film Arcade.net would like to extend our condolences to Michael Clarke Duncan’s family and friends.

Michael Clarke Duncan was a talented actor that will truly be missed.
