Upsidedown Cross stars Erin Russ (Porkchop, ‘Devil Sister’) as Nadine, the drug-addled victim of religious mania, and David Yow, lead singer of acclaimed alt rock band Jesus Lizard, as her tormented would-be redeemer. Synopsis

Abandoned, abused by the police and in the throes of withdrawal, Nadine, a drug addicted young prostitute, returns to her childhood home and the mother she ran away from. Nadine’s mother, Delilah; a fanatical Christian who believes demons have possessed her daughter, searches for a “cure” for Nadine’s erratic behavior. When she finds a rogue preacher willing to exorcise her daughter for a fee, neither realizes they have invited the devil into their home. While her mother turns a blind eye to the bizarre practices unfolding in her own home, Nadine, wracked with mental and physical pain, has no choice but to put up with the preacher’s increasingly violent charade.

Scorpio Film Releasing, New England’s most prolific feature film production company have begun pre-production on their 15th feature film, Future Justice, a science-fiction post-apocalyptic action film from Director Richard Griffin (The Disco Exorcist), writer Nat Sylva and producers Ted Marr and Kristin Kayala. Shooting is set to begin in September 2013 and Scorpio Film Releasing is currently raising funds for the film on crowd-funding site Indiegogo.

After producing fourteen internationally released feature films in the short span of 12 years, Scorpio Film Releasing have paved the way for independent film production to strive in the Northeast and New England in particular, or Hollywood East as the region has been lovingly dubbed. Their 15th feature, Future Justice sees Scorpio Film Releasing’s return to the genre throwback, a genre they helped pioneer with cult classics like Nun Of That and The Disco Exorcist.

Future Justice is set in the future. Saturn's moon of Titan houses a prison where Earth's worst criminals are kept awaiting their return to Earth for trial and execution. One of those criminals, Python Diamond (Nat Sylva), is being flown back to Earth, escorted by five members of the military police. Upon their return to Earth, they find that a cataclysmic nuclear war has reduced the world to a near-lifeless husk. Searching for survivors and any clue as to the cause of the destruction leads the six to a warehouse bunker housing scientists who constitute Earth's last remaining hope for the future. Unfortunately, their landing spacecraft drew the attention of one of the gangs that roam the ruined countryside in search of food and resources, leading them straight to the carefully hidden and well-provisioned shelter. Low on people and ammunition, Python and the remaining survivors wage a guerrilla battle against the gang amid the twisting confines of the warehouse while, unbeknownst to both sides, a third party enters the fray, leaving carnage in their wake. This dangerous entity finally forces the remaining bandits and the few survivors to band together for mutual survival.

SNOW SHARK director Sam Qualiana’s newest endeavor THE LEGEND OF SIX FINGERS announced it’s Indie Go-Go fundraising drive will receive matching funds from independent media marketing expert and home entertainment studio head Michael Raso.

THE LEGEND OF SIX FINGERS combines two subgenres into one: the Bigfoot movies of the 1970s, like THE LEGEND OF BOGEY CREEK and CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAKE, and “found footage” movies such as CLOVERFIELD and the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY series. Written and directed by Sam Qualiana and produced by novelist and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson (SLIME CITY), THE LEGEND OF SIX FINGERS follows two documentary filmmakers investigating a legendary monster. Featuring genre icons Lynn Lowry (George Romero’s THE CRAZIES) and Debbie Rochon (SLIME CITY MASSACRE), the film will be shot in the late summer / fall of 2013 outside of Buffalo, New York.

Mugworth Productions has launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to raise money for their latest production, a horror anthology titled Zombificador. Supporters can donate anywhere from $1 to $5,000. Perks include producer credits, limited edition Blu-rays, autographed posters and scripts, memorabilia and even an appearance the movie. All contributors are also invited to appear in a DVD featurette.

Upon successfully securing the funding, iconic filmmaker Herschell Gordon Lewis has agreed to return to the director's chair for Zombificador. Lewis is affectionately known as the "Godfather of Gore" after making such classic splatter fests as Two Thousand Maniacs, Blood Feast, Color Me Blood Red and The Wizard of Gore. Now he's ready to create what promises to be his bloodiest movie ever!

Lewis will direct from a script written by Marc Fernandez. Zombificador is an old-fashioned anthology movie with five interconnecting stories. From big, fat monsters with the ability of transforming people into savage creatures, to human-sized mutant bugs, along with talking puppets and silent psycho killers, Zombificador has it all. The movie will utilize traditional, practical special effects.

Genre favorites Bill Moseley (The Devil's Rejects, Repo! The Genetic Opera), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) and Todd Farmer (My Bloody Valentine, Jason X) are attached to star in the film. Other recognizable faces are in talks to be involved.

Actress Heather Doff recently send us information on a new horror film called "Truth or Dare" that currently has an indie go-go campaign going on. The film is directed by Jessica Cameron, who co-stared in the "Slient Night" remake that was released this past December. She will also star in the film along with Doff and Devanny Pinn (The Black Dahlia Haunting, ViViD). It's also slated to produce by Buzz "Danger Wallick (Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy, Dread Central's Dinner for Fiends) The filmmakers need your help, as there's 13 days to go and they need 39,000 dollars to cover editing, sound design, music/score, color correction, deliverables, and festival submission fee costs.

Emma has a loving family, caring boyfriend, and loyal best friend. One rumor might rip this all away from her though. She fights to hold on to her old life as one mean-spirited rumor becomes so real she can’t find the light through the encompassing darkness. Emma tries to run from it, but it becomes so real and takes on a life of its own. She finds herself powerless to it and unable to distinguish rumor from reality.  What if she can’t escape it and hold on to her dwindling sanity?

Words Like Knives is a short dark drama written and starring Kelsey Zukowski and directed by Travis Legge. It also features Jeff Scaduto, Valerie Meachum, Myke Wilson, Melissa Revels, and Aley Kreinz. Shooting is scheduled for April 2012 in Rockford, IL.

Legge and Zukowski first worked together in March of 2011 on a Grindhouse trailer entitled, Monster Mash, which also starred Revels and Kitsie Duncan. Legge was a producer on the dark short, What They Say, which Zukowski wrote and acted in. The film was nominated for Best Short at The Chicago Horror Film Festival in September of 2011.

Legge has worked with the entire primary cast before, being well aware of their abilities and how they work best. Valerie Meachum appeared in Legge’s twisted Christmas short, Holiday Carvings, as well as Legge’s first feature film, Raymond Did It. Myke Wilson directed one of Travis’ scripts, Event Invitation, which wrapped filming in October of 2011. Legge worked with Melissa Revels both in Monster Mash and Windershins along with a number of projects they have in the works.

“Words Like Knives deals with very disturbing material, but that’s part of the point. I like tackling uncomfortable material. I find it far more interesting. It’s a delicate balance between seeming exploitative and meaningfully bringing out the darker side of humanity. I’m thrilled with the team that has signed on for the project. Everyone involved really believes in what the film is trying to accomplish and will be a part in bringing this disquieting vision to life”, Zukowski says.

Although, it tackles very taboo material it also deals with the universal themes of a rumor spinning out of control and how damaging idle gossip can be.  It simply takes this to a more severe level and examines the possibility of the horrors that can be locked deep inside any one of us when pushed far enough.
