The film recently wrapped production in RI and marks the 14th film from director Richard Griffin (Murder University, Exhumed) "Future Justice is slated to have its world premiere in early to mid 2014.

Scorpio Film Releasing, New England’s most prolific feature film production company are proud to announce the wrap of production on their 14th feature film, Future Justice. Future Justice is Scorpio Film Releasing’s most ambitious project to date; a sci-fi, post-apocalyptic action film from Director Richard Griffin (The Disco Exorcist), writer Nat Sylva and producer Ted Marr (Exhumed).

"The production of Future Justice, considering the large scope of the project in terms of special effects, stunts, make-up effects, and sets and costumes, was something that a typical indie film would never attempt,” explained director Richard Griffin. “But due to the extremely hard work and talent of the cast and crew, not only did we wrap production on budget, but we did so two days ahead of schedule. That's unheard of even on films with a much larger budget, and a great testament to all involved."

Future Justice is set in a time when Saturn's moon of Titan houses a prison where Earth's worst criminals are kept awaiting their return to Earth for trial and execution. One of those criminals, Python Diamond, is being flown back to Earth, escorted by five members of the military police. Upon their return to Earth, they find that a cataclysmic nuclear war has reduced the world to a near-lifeless husk. Searching for survivors and any clue as to the cause of the destruction leads the six to a warehouse bunker housing scientists who constitute Earth's last remaining hope for the future. Unfortunately, their landing spacecraft drew the attention of one of the gangs that roam the ruined countryside in search of food and resources, leading them straight to the carefully hidden and well-provisioned shelter. The gang lays siege to the warehouse, fighting their way inside in a bloody battle that takes lives on both sides.

Throughout the 14-day production, a creative team led by director Richard Griffin, Director of Photography Jill Poisson and Production Designer Margaret Wolf transformed various locations and sets around Rhode Island into a post-apocalyptic nightmare. Future Justice stars Aaron Andrade, Steven O'Broin, Elyssa Baldassari, Anna Rizzo, Tiffany Lee Edwards and Nat Sylvia as Python Diamond.

Future Justice will be released around April 2014.

Wild Eye Releasing has send us information about the upcoming DVD release of "Murder University. The 80's homage slasher film is the latest from director Richard Griffin (Nun of That, The Disco Exorcist). No special features were announced at this time. "Murder University: hits stores on 10/15.

Scorpio Film Releasing, New England’s most prolific feature film production company have begun pre-production on their 15th feature film, Future Justice, a science-fiction post-apocalyptic action film from Director Richard Griffin (The Disco Exorcist), writer Nat Sylva and producers Ted Marr and Kristin Kayala. Shooting is set to begin in September 2013 and Scorpio Film Releasing is currently raising funds for the film on crowd-funding site Indiegogo.

After producing fourteen internationally released feature films in the short span of 12 years, Scorpio Film Releasing have paved the way for independent film production to strive in the Northeast and New England in particular, or Hollywood East as the region has been lovingly dubbed. Their 15th feature, Future Justice sees Scorpio Film Releasing’s return to the genre throwback, a genre they helped pioneer with cult classics like Nun Of That and The Disco Exorcist.

Low on people and ammunition, Python and the remaining survivors wage a guerrilla battle against the gang amid the twisting confines of the warehouse while, unbeknownst to both sides, a third party enters the fray, leaving carnage in their wake. This dangerous entity finally forces the remaining bandits and the few survivors to band together for mutual survival.

Director Richard Griffin explains, “"we've been trying since 2009 to get a post-apocalyptic film off the ground. Finally, we have a brilliant screenplay by Nat Sylva, and a phenomenal cast. The storyline is thrilling, but has amazing characterizations, twists, turns and a lot of surprises and action. I know it'll be a real ballsy mix of classics like Escape from New York, fused with more grind house thrillers like The Bronx Warriors!"

Scorpio Film Releasing, New England’s most prolific feature film production company have completed production on their 14th feature film, Normal. Directed by multiple award-winning Director Richard Griffin (Exhumed) from a screenplay by acclaimed playwright Lenny Schwartz (Subject 62, The Brothers Marx), Normal is a dark, psychological drama that will see its release later in 2013. After an eleven day shoot in Rhode Island, the film wrapped on May 11th.

In Normal, Jim (Michael Reed) - a lonely, troubled young man who works as an apartment superintendent, is replaying his tortured past. Through a series of flashbacks, and interactions with the mysterious tenants he is surrounded by, we not only learn of his dark secrets, but also what it means to be normal. Director Richard Griffin explains, “when I received the screenplay by Lenny Schwartz, I was completely floored not only at the emotional content of the material, but it's originality. I can honestly say without the threat of sounding pretentious that audiences have never seen anything like Normal. It's almost unclassifiable. It's not a horror film, but it has horrific elements -- its content being more emotionally violent than physical. It's not just a straight forward drama or psychological thriller either. It's a profoundly moving and, in parts, disturbing character study that I believe will haunt people for days after viewing it. I am honored to have been a part of such a unique vision.”

Writer Lenny Schwartz adds, “Normal for me is the proudest I have been of anything I have written in my life thus far, hands down. I knew when it was finished it would be a hell of a challenge, production wise, directing wise, performance wise. I am so fortunate to have Richard directing anything I do but especially this one, as he brought the screenplay to another level. As did the crew, building and creating the sets...Ken Willinger's amazing cinematography...and man, the performances are off the charts. Michael Reed is stunning in this. His performance is something unique to behold. “

Michael Reed (The Disco Exorcist) who plays the lead role of Jim says, “shooting a feature film in 10 days has it challenges. Typically when one hears that you’ll be shooting a feature in a short amount of time, it’s a slightly scary feeling – especially when you’re in almost every scene. A lot of work and preparation goes into shooting a feature, and we were lucky to be working the majority of scenes on a sound stage where we built our own apartment building set.”

Scorpio Film Releasing has announce plans that they will be self distributing their latest release "Dr. Frankenstein's Wax Museum of the Hungry Dead" on DVD, Blu-Ray and VOD.
