And now it's up to Rex to undo the scorned Rita's rampage of revenge, murder and destruction before she claims more lives, and takes over the soul of the woman he loves in this decadent and devilish decent into sexploitation!

Stills and Screening Information for "The Disco Exorcist" and "Atomic Brain Invasion"
2:25 PM | Atomic Brain Invasion, Film Screening, Indie News, The Disco Exorcist with 0 comments »Scorpio Film Releasing recently send us over some new stills and upcoming screening information for "The Disco Exorcist" and "Atomic Brain Invasion".
Press Release:
A duo of matinees are set to highlight Rhode Island’s premiere film production company, Scorpio Film Releasing, with a showing of their latest films ATOMIC BRAIN INVASON and THE DISCO EXORCIST gracing the screen of the historic Cable Car Cinema in Providence Rhode Island.
Critics have praised THE DISCO EXORCIST as “a lovingly created homage to the golden age of porn, bad hair, and grindhouse horror” (Killingboxx) and “an example of what happens when every single member of your cast and crew are synced up on the same page and moving in the same direction” (Twitch Film). THE DISCO EXORCIST will play Saturday April 16th at 2:30 pm. Because of the adult nature of the film, nobody under 18 will be admitted into the showing.
ATOMIC BRAIN INVASION, just off of its run at the Boston Underground Film Festival will play Sunday April 17th at 2:30pm. ATOMIC BRAIN INVASION follows a bunch of misfit high-schoolers as they band together to stop an army of brain creatures from outer space that intend to kidnap Elvis Presley when he performs in their small New England town.
Both showings are fundraisers for Scorpio Film Releasing’s next film, EXHUMED, set to begin shooting in areas around Rhode Island in May. EXHUMED is an edgy horror film, anticipating a move away from current, more supernaturally inclined fear flicks, towards something nastier and moodier. EXHUMED deals with a twisted family that is seemingly unable to leave their own home. Their gnarled existence and mounting animosity finally gives way to violence and visceral panic.
If you are unable to attend the screenings, but would still like to help make the film, visit the EXHUMED kickstarter campaign at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/917322639/exhumed and donate to receive some great items.

New Stills and New Screening for "The Disco Exorcist"
10:00 AM | exploitation, Film Screening, Stills, The Disco Exorcist with 0 comments »Scorpio Film Releasing recently send us over some new stills and information for their next screening of "The Disco Exorcist".
Press Release:
After the sold out premiere, New England’s unyielding kings of exploitation, Scorpio Film Releasing have set the next showing of their highly anticipated film THE DISCO EXORCIST for Saturday, March 19 at 11:00pm at the Cable Car Cinema and CafĂ© in Providence Rhode Island. Twitch Film says that THE DISCO EXORCIST is “excruciatingly funny, genuinely harrowing at times and delivers on every promise that that killer trailer and excellent poster by Stephen Romano made.”
THE DISCO EXORCIST is a movie steeped in that great 1970’s Grindhouse tradition, with a dark horror story nuzzled snug in the seedy world of 70’s Disco, porn, and drug Culture. It’s at once funny, ominous, and unapologetically lurid. At the recently sold out premiere is Providence RI, the films director Richard Griffin heralded THE DISCO EXORCIST with the below introduction.
"When I was a child growing up in the 70s... and this was before we learned about movies from the internet ... I would scan the entertainment section of the Friday newspaper. There you would see ads for all the upcoming films. The main part of the page was covered in ads for all the big Hollywood films; Dog Day Afternoon, Jaws, Saturday Night Fever. Down the page you would see ads for the movies playing at the art house theaters... from the newest from Fellini to a John Waters revival. Finally down at the bottom of the page was the tiny, tiny ads for the porno movie theaters in town. Lurid artwork and titles. Well, being a rather precocious movie-loving kid, I would point to each ad and ask my mother about them. She would say, "Oh, that's a PG rated comedy. You can see that," or "That's a R-rated horror movie, you have to wait until you're older.” Finally I would point to an ad for one of the "Adult" movies and she'd say.... "Oh, that's one of THOSE kind of movies”....
Well, I was -- of course -- intrigued. It was forbidden. Taboo. And for years I've waited to make "One of THOSE kind of movies...,” and now with THE DISCO EXORCIST I've finally had my chance.”
THE DISCO EXORCIST stars Michael Reed, Sarah Nicklin, Ruth Sullivan, Brandon Luis Aponte, Rich Tretheway, Gio Castellano, and Babette Bombshell as "Bernie Munghat".
THE DISCO EXORCIST was directed by Richard Griffin, produced by Ted Marr, written by Tony Nunes and photographed by Jill Poisson.
THE DISCO EXORCIST is intended for mature audiences (in a matter of speaking) and nobody under 18 will be admitted into the theater. Down the road, the films producers hope to screen THE DISCO EXORCIST at some of the leading film fests around North America. For more information or to preorder tickets to the showings, visit the Scorpio Film Releasing website at www.scorpiofilmreleasing.net.

Scorpio Film Releasing Announces Their Next Production and 2011 Plans
6:57 PM | Atomic Brain Invasion, Indie News, Mutants of the Apocalypse, The Disco Exorcist with 1 comments »Scorpio Film Releasing is proud to announce that their next production, and most ambitious to date, will be the feature film 2009: MUTANTS OF THE APOCALYPSE, a unique vision of a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by outlandishly deformed mutants, ruthlessly violent gangs, corruptible leaders, wasteland temptresses, and the most badass antihero in movie history; Python Diamond. New England genre film director, Richard Griffin tackles his loftiest vision yet, in an epic production of grand scale action and science fiction.
As with Griffin’s other films NUN OF THAT, BEYOND THE DUNWICH HORROR, ATOMIC BRAIN INVASION, and upcoming THE DISCO EXORCIST, 2009: MUTANTS OF THE APOCALYPSE will be a genre inspired adventure movie much like Escape From New York, or the Italian “Spaghetti-Apocalypse” films Bronx Warriors, The New Barbarians, and Fall of New York. Griffin explains that “with Mutants of the Apocalypse I wanted to return the sci-fi/action film to it's roots. Real mayhem and not endless CGI. When you see the action and stunts in the movie, you'll know it's the real thing with real stunt men and women putting their lives at risk for your viewing entertainment."
2009: MUTANTS OF THE APOCALYPSE is loosely based on Scorpio Film Releasing’s short film, Mutants of the Apocalypse, their multiple award-winning entry into the 2010 Providence 48-Hour Film Challenge. Expanding on the themes of this ambitious low-budget short, the feature film will broaden the world presented into a full-scale land of chaos, decay, and plays of power, in some ways mirroring our current political situation. You can watch the original HD short film and link it here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qmvJqbYXP0
Currently in the pre-production stages, 2009: MUTANTS OF THE APOCALYPSE has a tentative shooting date set for early Fall 2011. Because of the level of design and production work, the filmmakers are taking their time to make sure every aspect of this world they are creating is memorable and exciting. Griffin is set to direct with Ted Marr producing. The screenplay is written by Tony Nunes (Zombie Allegiance) and Guy Benoit (Atomic Brain Invasion).
2009: MUTANTS OF THE APOCALYPSE has yet to be cast outside of the lead role of Python Diamond to be played by Gio Castellano (Atomic Brain Invasion & The Disco Exorcist). Casting for the film is expected to continue until late Spring.
Also on the Scorpio Film Releasing docket is the 1970’s set THE DISCO EXORCIST, Griffin’s bloodiest, sexiest film yet, which just wrapped principal photography last week, and will most likely premiere in February of 2011. The 1950’s Sci-Fi monster movie, ATOMIC BRAIN INVASION, also directed by Griffin will be available soon on DVD. Watch www.scorpiofilmreleasing.net for preorder details.
