If there was one project that I would like to see fully funded, "Malevolence 3" would be it. This would be the final chapter in the "Malevolence" trilogy, which started with "Malevolence" and recently it's prequel "Bereavement". Both films are must watch films for any horror, as it goes back to the suspenseful days of horror. Steven Mena will return to direct the final with Brain O'Halloran (Clerks, Brutal Massacre) co-producing and possibly starring in the film. In 2005, Stevan Mena’s debut feature film Malevolence was a surprise hit when it was released theatrically and on DVD. Written, co-produced and directed by Stevan, Malevolence told the shocking but enthralling story of masked serial killer Martin Bristol, whose story hit a nerve with horror fans and mainstream audiences all over the world. Producers Brad Lavery and Mike De Trana, along with award-winning director Dan Riesser, have launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign seeking finishing funds for their independently-financed feature film Stomping Ground. The campaign began on March 11th and runs until April 9th. Nearly half of the $15,000 goal has already been raised. The film is seeking financing to aid with editing, color correction, sound design and visual FX.

Stomping Ground can best be described as a “scary relationship comedy about love and Bigfoot hunting.” It tells the story of Ben and Annie, a couple living in Chicago, on a weekend trip to Annie's small North Carolina hometown. At the local bar they run into Paul, an old friend of Annie's, and Ben learns something he never knew about his girlfriend: She believes in Bigfoot. In fact, she and her friends used to "hunt" for the creature when they were kids. Before Ben knows it, he's off on an impromptu Squatchin' trip deep in the Carolina backwoods. Amidst the Squatch calls, campfire stories and beers, Ben quickly realizes that Paul may have an ulterior motive in bringing Annie to the woods. And something else out here seems to be after her as well. Everyone but Ben thinks its Bigfoot. But it can't be, can it? After all, Bigfoot isn't real...

Stomping Ground is was shot in October 2012 in North Carolina, mostly in the Uwharrie National Forest, an area well known for its Bigfoot sightings. The film stars an amazing cast including John Bobek, Tarah DeSpain, Jeramy Blackford and Justin Giddings. It also features a special appearance by Theresa Tilly, who is best known for her role in Sam Raimi's horror classic, The Evil Dead. Among the exciting prizes, Kickstarter pledgers have the opportunity to receive a signed piece of Evil Dead memorabilia from the actress. Director Dan Riesser is a filmmaker and television producer whose short films have played at festivals across the world. His 2010 short film Night of the Punks was an official selection at over 25 film festivals including Screamfest LA. His producing and directing work can be seen weekly on E! The New Neighbor is about a college student & her brother (Ky Mahone) who notice a puzzling epidemic sweeping their neighborhood timed to the arrival of a new neighbor. Everyone starts to turns pale, they act anemic, they avoid sunlight and they might have a strange bite mark on their neck. They become convinced that the new neighbor is slowly turning everyone into vampires. To complicate matters, sis finds herself inexplicably drawn to the neighbor's son (Ryan Sandefur). Is she a moth being drawn to the film? Or is there a greater evil at work?

What makes our take on the vampire film unique?

Instead of just focusing on vampires biting people, we put the emphasizes on suspense, mystery & the sexy perks of being able to take control of ones mind through the vampiric seduction, and how it would affect a girl that is suspicious of a vampiric outbreak in her small friendly neighborhood, only to be thrown off of by being involuntarily being drawn to and being caught in the middle of a dangerously steamy affair with the one guy she is so worried about?

We also put an emphasizes on how a vampire outbreak would affect people, how it would change the lives of a small community.

MonsterPants is proud to announce that the sixth feature film by DIY auteur James Felix McKenney (AUTOMATONS, HYPOTHERMIA) will be the dark thriller, VILLAIN.

VILLAIN tells the story of a psychotic killer who hunts the "real life superheroes" of New York City.

"VILLAIN came from my own reaction to seeing news stories about these real life superheroes a few years back," says the director. "The first thing that popped into my head was that these were just a bunch of urban attention seekers who could never hold their own against a real threat. I started thinking about what kind of a person would be the real world equivalent of a super-criminal and VILLAIN was born."

Playing the titular character is designer toy artist, The Super Sucklord, who received mainstream notoriety for his appearance on the second season of Bravo TV's "Work of Art: The Next Great Artist."

McKenney explains how this collaboration came to be, "VILLAIN was originally meant to be this bigger, nation-spanning film. But one night I was hanging out in the Sucklord's lair listening to him rant about some topic that is dear to him and it hit me: Here's this really smart guy who's already a self-styled super villain with his own little hideout and lots of strong opinions about how the world should be, and that was it. I found my VILLAIN."

With this revelation, McKenney scaled-back the production to a gritty, ground level project set in New York City that stays true to both artists' DIY roots and aesthetic. The film takes inspiration from early digital video and Asian horror and serial killer movies from the 1990's and early 2000's. The filmmakers will be using a wide range of equipment, ranging from current hi-definition RED cameras to old video tape technology from decades past to give the film a jarring, disjointed look to give the audience a glimpse into the mind of a madman.

The film's director of photography is Eric Branco and Lisa Wisely is producing. Both have worked with McKenney on earlier film projects.
