Hey? Who's that Randy guy? Do I know him?
Yeah, I know. I've been a total stranger lately. But good news: The Internet is back up and running! Now that I have a new service provider (fuck Verizon), I can resume my normal activity on the site, which includes my daily questions.
Enjoy, guys!
Question:With the election in just two days, are you going to vote? If so, who are you voting for?
Feel free to reply via a comment.
Randy's Question of the Day: 10/9/08
3:08 PM | Articles, Randy's Question of the Day with 1 comments »No.. my internet is not back up.
But here is today's (possibly this week's) question:
I haven't had a good laugh all week (except for that article about ticket fraud =D LMAO).
And so.........
Question: What is the funniest joke you've ever heard?
Just post it right in a comment. Make me laugh, people.
Randy's Question of the Day: 10/3/08
4:05 PM | Articles, Randy's Question of the Day with 3 comments »Hey guys! Happy October!
Randy here, posting from the library. Hopefully my internet will be up by the end of this weekend, but I'm not counting on it. I thought it was going to be back up last weekend. But thats a different story.
Today's question is simple. Just an opinion.
Question: What is your preferred beverage? Beverage of choice? Your favorite drink?
Feel free to list as many as you'd like.
Randy's Question of the Day: 9/30/08
4:41 PM | Articles, Randy's Question of the Day with 3 comments »Hey everyone! How have you all been? Cause I've been shitty!!!!
Yeah, I've had a rough week. No internet, which means I haven't been able to check my email or post "Questions of the Day" for over a week now... and probably won't be able to do so for another week or so until Verizon gets this shit sorted out. Wonderful, huh? So hold off, guys, new questions are coming... eventually. I also broke my basketball hoop in my driveway and broke my toe. So yeah I'm having fun this week.
I decided to pop on here really quickly. I'm at the public library which, thankfully, has a wireless hotspot, so I can use my laptop. I looked over the site and have seen some changes. (10 Questions to Independant Film Corner?? Wtf?)...
It's nice to see that the site is staying upated and not not falling apart with my absense. (GO TONY!). Hopefully my internet will be back up and running soon, so I can resume my questions and get back to helping Tony with the "adminy" stuff.
So anyhows, here's today's question of the day. Enjoy it, because it will probably be the last one you'll see for a while.
Question: Think of your favorite movie(s). If you could be any character in that movie/one of those movies, what character would you be? Why?
Feel free to describe the character, what movie he/she/it is from, and why you'd like to be that character.
Have fun with this one, guys! Don't be afraid to be creative!!!
Hey folks. This isn't Randy - this is Tony. Randy has asked me to post that he won't be able to get online this week to post a question of the day because his internet is a bit messed up. I decided to continue it with a question that was left in the comments section of one of the previous QOTDs, requested by Freelance.
What are you're Top Ten Bond Films?
Randy's Question of the Day: 9/18/08
4:44 PM | Articles, Randy's Question of the Day with 0 comments »Hey everyone! This is a re-post from yesterday. The banner goes up tomorrow, so be sure to get your votes in! (Although I have a feeling of which one is going to win). The red one is up for today so you can all see what it looks like on the site. Cheers.
Hola, everyone! I hope your week is going well. The Oscar nom question yesterday was popular, and I want to thank everyone for your detailed responses. Below is today's question. It's a poll of the FilmArcade community, (and it's an important one!!!), so be sure to vote!
Today's question regards our banner. Out of respect for the victims of 9/11, FilmArcade.net designed a special banner in tribute of those who were lost on that fateful day. Tony and I decided to leave it up for 1 week, out of respect.

I'm going to put the purple one up for the rest of Wednesday, just to give you an idea of what it looks like with the layout. Tomorrow, and for the rest of Thursday, I'm going to put the red one up all day, also, to give you an idea of how it looks with the site.

Question: So far, out of all the films you've seen in 2008, which ones do you think are deserving of an Oscar nom? Please be as specific as possible, if you can. List the film, and what catagory you think it should be nominated in. Also, feel free to throw out some actors' names that you think would be deserving of a nom, what movie, what catagory, etc. (*Cough cough, Heath Ledger, Cough cough*)

Question: What questions would you like to see in future "Questions of the Day"?
Feel free to tell me types of questions that you would like to see, or, if you have some, specific questions you'd like to see. List as many questions as you'd like. If you list it, I promise I'll use it.

To the Victims, To the Families, To the Heroes:
4:18 PM | Articles, Randy's Question of the Day with 0 comments »9/11 will always be remembered as the day when terrorists hijacked 4 American airplanes, and crashed them into the World Trade Center Twin Towers and the Pentagon, the 4th airplane crash landing in Pennsylvania before it could reach it's target, The Capitol Building. Thousands of innocent people died on that fateful day.
What was designed to make us weak only made us that much stronger as a nation. And so, today, seven years later, we honor those whose lives were lost. This is not a day to debate on why it happened. Today is not a day to talk about goverment conspiracies... Today is a day to remember. Over 3,000 lives were lost in the World Trade Center Towers. Many people went off to work that day, and never came home to eat dinner with their families. Innocent people... all dead, at the hands of a terrorist.
However, today is not just a day to remember the innocent... We need also to remember the heroes. As thousands came rushing out of the towers, many went rushing INTO the burning buildings as well. 343 New York Firefighters died trying to help people out of the buildings. 27 NYPD officers were also killed trying to evacuate the building. These brave men died with honor for their country, knowing when they answered that fateful call exactly what it would mean.
Another group of heroes need to be recognized on this day, which are the most over-looked. And they are the passengers of Flight 93 which crashed in PA. Something happened on that flight that made it go down. These terrorists crashed 3 planes into some of our nation's most important buildings... They knew what they were doing. They wouldn't accidentally crash this plane in a field. Something heroic happened on the flight, and the heroes on it need to be regonized.
So today, September 11th, 2008, we remember the victims and the heroes, and our hearts go out to the families and friends of the loved-ones. In honor of all the lives lost, FilmArcade has created a special banner in honor of the vicitms and their families, and it will remain up for one week.
Even as this day is one of sadness, we Americans can also find some joy. September 11th only made our nation safer, and we can sleep easy at night knowing that nothing like this will ever happen again. Also, the attacks on our nation made us stronger. Throughout our nation's history, there have been struggles, dating all the way back to the Revolution itself. The Civil War, threats of secession... but the States hung through it. And today, 232 years later, we're still here. Our nation's reaction to 9/11, for the first time in history, truly proved the meaning of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Because that's what we are: United. And today, on the seventh anniversary of the solumn occasion, we can stand tall, and say honestly will all heart and feeling:
As for today's question of the day, I will just leave you with this: I understand that this is a sensitive topic for most people, including myself. So, if you feel comfortable, consider it a "Thought of the Day". You're not obligated to answer. Just think:
Where were you at 8:46 AM seven years ago today?
Randy's Question of the Day: 9/10/08
5:43 PM | Articles, Randy's Question of the Day with 3 comments »So, yesterday's question prompted several more responses than earlier in the week, which was good. I encourage you all to continue to do so. As for this collumn itself, I believe it has been a success, and I will continue it. When I first began submitting my comments here about a week ago, I was skeptical of how it would go. However, already, I have learned a lot about all of you, and I hope you are learning more about each other. In additon, my collumn has attracted two new readers to our site (Linda and Juan Carlo), at least that I know of. Thanks for your involvement and imput, guys!
If you are new to FilmArcade.net, if you linked here from Digg, Twitter, or any other site, I encourage you to do as Linda and Juan and comment on our daily questions. We here at FilmArcade not only want to know more about our writers, but also we want to learn more about the awesome people that keep our site running: YOU READERS! So please, get involved. I can guarentee you, you will not be let down. We are looking for more fans and supporters everyday.
Below is today's question. Yesterday I was challenged by Juan to make the questions a little more challenging. And so, rather than today's question being an opinionated one, designed to learn more about you, today's question is strictly that of trivia. It has absolutely nothing to do with movies; Instead, it has to do with the only thing that's been on my mind all week, since it was so tramatic for me, considering I was in the 4th grade when it happened.
Read the question, and re-read it if necessary. Then, try and answer it. (Good luck, Juan!) Also, feel free to leave any comments, thoughts, or feelings that you have on 9-11 as well.
Question: Why is the number 343 significant tomorrow?
Type your answer and thoughts on 9-11 via a comment. Also, feel free to go back and comment on this week's previous questions.

10:44 PM | Articles, Randy's Question of the Day with 5 comments »Ok, so I am sorry for getting this posted so late. But I tried to fucking get this posted earlier and Blogger went down (of course, as always), and deleted the entire thing. Yay.
Anyways, here it is. Today's question is movie-related, and EVERYONE is capable of answering it. Your participation has SUCKED the last few days, so let's get involved, shall we? The purpose of this is to get to know one another a little better, readers and arcaders. In order to do that, everyone needs to contribute their two cents. This is your chance to get involved with FilmArcade.net. Let you voice be heard! We want to hear EVERYONE'S answers to these sometimes pointless questions, not just a few people, otherwise Tony and I wouldn't waste our time posting these! So get involved! Answer the questions!
Below is today's question. As I mentioned, it is movie-related, and so I expect everyone to answer. EVERYONE! Leave your answer (and any additional thoughts) via a comment. Type as much as you'd like, as many times as you'd like. Also, feel free to go back and comment on previous topics from throughout the week.
Question: What is your favorite movie of all time? Why?
Alright, now I don't want a top 10 here, folks. No top 25s... nothing. I want y'all to pick ONE MOVIE. I can understand that this may be tough, but I only want one film. Pick one, and tell us why. Tell us a little about it, why it's your favorite, etc. Then, after you do this, feel free to leave your "honorable mentions" (aka the other 9 in your top 10).
So get to it!
Randy's Question of the Day: 9/8/08
5:07 PM | Articles, Randy's Question of the Day with 6 comments »Alright guys, today's question is very important, and it is a question for Arcaders and Readers. I would like everyone to answer this question via a comment. Tony asked me personally to use this question for my collumn, because he is very curious about something. It is a poll of the entire FilmArcade community. Please take a few moments to answer this for Tony. Just click where it says "# Comments" above. We had some terrible participation the last two days, so please, help us out.
Tony would really like to know: Where do you go for your film news? High-traffic sites, such as /Film, or movie blogs, such as Cinnematical or FilmArcade?
Please tell us where you go to recieve your film news. If you recieve it from multiple places, list them all. Thank you.

Question: What is your favorite football team?

6:55 PM | Articles, Randy's Question of the Day with 3 comments »Hey guys! Below is today's question of the day. Feel free to leave your thoughts via a comment. Write as much as you like as many times as you like. We had some awesome participation yesterday, and I really enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts and opinions on their favorite (and worst) movies of the summer. Special thanks to Dr. Royce, whose reference to "Speed Racer" as a neon anal bead became the funniest thing I've heard all week.
I would really like everyone to leave their thoughts, no matter how brief or long. Below is today's question, just a random thing that is flying through my head at the current moment, something for you to think about. Actually, it's a multi-part question. Comments are awesome! Have fun!!!
Question: Do you go to a gym on a regular basis? If so, what is your workout like?
And, because Tony is on my ass about keeping the topics movie-related:
Does your gym have a movie theater built into it? Or, does your gym show movies?
Randy's Question of the Day: 9/5/08
8:20 PM | Articles, Randy's Question of the Day with 12 comments »Heya Arcaders and Readers!
For those of you who did not catch my post yesterday, this is a new segment I am starting here on FilmArcade.net, just one of the many new things that will be coming your way during the Blogger to Wordpress transition. Basically, I will type a question, and you guys can respond to it via a comment. Type as much as you want, and feel free to leave as many comments as you want.
The purpose of this is to unify our FilmArcade community. What I would like to see in the FilmArcade comment logs are interactive conversations between our writers, administrators (yes, that includes you, Tony), and of course, our readers. Feel free to leave your thoughts on the question. I WANT EVERYONE TO PARTICIPATE!!! We had some participation yesterday... (Thanks, Linda and Jerry!!!), but I would really like to see much more of it. I want to see conversations and possibly, some debates and arguments! This way, all of our readers and writers can get to know each other a little better, by sharing their thoughts and ideas about certain subjects (THUS UNIFYING US!!! YAY!!!). Feel free to argue with one another. In fact, it's encouraged! The more people who participate, the better! In fact, I want to see EVERYONE leave their thoughts. So get to it, folks! Your question is below.
Sorry it's so late in posting this. But regardless, here it is. If you didn't comment on yesterday's question, feel free to go back and do so.
Question: What was your favorite movie of Summer 2008, and why?
Randy's Question of the Day: 9/4/08
2:52 PM | Articles, Randy's Question of the Day with 4 comments »Hey guys! This is a new segment that I am trying to get started. I don't know how long it will last, or if I will even be able to post one of these everyday, but I'm going to try. Right now, this is just a thing to: 1) Occupy my time, and 2) Get some of the crazy ideas that are flowing through my head out into the open. This is good because it gives a chance for the Arcaders and our wonderful readers to interact with one another, almost like a forum. Of course, once we switch over to WordPress, we will have official "forums", but this will serve it's purpose for now. Another good thing about this is that there is always going to be something new to read and think about on FilmArcade, even when it's a slow movie week.
Basically, I will type a question, and you guys can comment on your thoughts on it. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO BE INTERACTIVE! I know, Jerry has it down perfect already =), but for the rest of you, I want to see some participation. I would really like to see some kind of unity of the FilmArcade family, and some real interactive conversations in the comment log. And, maybe, spill over into some friendly debates?
So, this is a test run: Just one of the new additions that will be happening to FilmArcade. Below is today's first question. Read it, and then comment on your thoughts. Feel free to type as much as you want, as many times as you want. Also, feel free to argue like maniacs in the comment logs (in a FRIENDLY way, of course). Have fun!
Question: Are you totally and utterly sick of the 2008 Presidential Campaign yet?
